This summer some college friends and I met up for our 9 year anniversary of graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. It had been a while since we had been on campus and we thought it would be fun to revisit. When I wrote about our time there, I also tweeted about it. This caught the attention of UWGB and a few days later I had an e-mail from the director of alumni relations asking if I would be interested in coming to the first Alumni Reunion Days to take pictures. Of course I would!
So, thanks to the power of social media, this connection was made possible and last weekend I headed up to Green Bay.
The event started on Friday night with a social gathering at the Weidner Center. Alumni and faculty were both there reconnecting while the band Big Mouth performed.
After the gathering, everyone headed into the Weidner Center theater for the first jazz concert of the season.
Don't worry - there were actually people attending the concert! Everyone was just afraid of those first rows.
Big Mouth came back to play after the jazz ensembles, but alas I have no pictures as I had gone over to the Common Grounds Coffeehouse to see Joanna Burns perform.
If anyone has a backstory to this Blue Whale Coffeehouse, please talk to me! [Or just get me a shirt that looks like that.]
First night was a success! What a great way to start off the Alumni Reunion Days.
