New York in October

[part 1 of 2]

Back in October we went to New York for a few days.  Eric had never been and the only time I had been there was in high school for a band trip - which if you ask me, doesn't really count. Here's a glimpse into some of the things we did the first two days.

The first night there we went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway.  After the show we walked around Times Square for quite a while before deciding we should find a place to eat as it was getting late.  We stumbled upon Heartland Brewery right before they stopped serving food.

We stayed at the NU Hotel in Brooklyn.  The location was nice and the hotel had bikes we could borrow which was a plus.   Our second day there we rode the bikes to the Brooklyn Bridge and rode across.  It was a very muggy day (as you can see how hazy the skyline was) which made for a bit of an uncomfortable / hot ride, but the views made it worth it.

After returning from our Brooklyn ride, we went into the city since we had tickets to see Jimmy Fallon that afternoon.  We needed to check in for the show and then had time to waste until the taping, so we did some shopping and sightseeing around Rockefeller Center.  We ended the second evening with dinner in Brooklyn at Jolie Cantina, a fantastic French / Mexican restaurant.
