While planning this trip, we knew we'd want to go biking one day. We also knew we wanted to check out Lopez Island, since we had yet to visit that particular island. Therefore, we went biking on Lopez Island. It was a bit chilly the morning we decided to ride, so we bundled up and went to catch the ferry.
It was a short ferry ride and when we got to Lopez Island, we started out on our bikes, not really sure where the roads would take us.
Our first break was at Spencer Spit State Park where we took a short walking trail down to this view:
If we had more time, we would have walked around more, but we had other places to see on the island.
We biked roughly 35 miles around the island that day. The roads were great and drivers were all courteous which made for a relaxing day. Lopez didn't take over my love for Orcas, but I still hope to return some day for possibly another biking adventure to the parts of the island we didn't have time for.
